What We Believe

The Bible

The Bible is the living Word of God, infallible and without error. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God. He lived a sinless, human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. Jesus rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

The Trinity

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity is equally God, sharing all the divine attributes.

Sin

God created humans in His image to live in loving fellowship with Him. But the enemy tempted the first humans and because we chose to go our own way, we have been separated from God since then. This sin caused death, disease, darkness and evil to enter the world. All of creation is in desperate need of redemption that only Christ can bring.

Church

The gathering of Christ-followers is necessary for growth, community and accountability. Yet, the church is more than a building. It is the body of Christ—all who confess and believe Jesus is Lord and are committed to living differently for Him daily. The church is to be powerful, unashamed and full of evidence of the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Spiritual Gifts

Every Christian is given spiritual gifts, as God chooses, to be used for the edification of the body of Christ. These are not the same as talents. While one may develop his or her talents and choose a profession or hobby based on this, spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit (after salvation) for the building up of Christ’s church.

Discipleship

Discipleship is the process by which believers grow and are equipped by the Holy Spirit to do the work of the Lord. Discipleship is not only necessary in overcoming life’s trials and become more Christlike—it is a command from Jesus Himself and a driving force of the church.
